Robert Lewis Thornberg

Robert Lewis Thornberg, 67, of Corvallis Oregon, passed away peacefully in his sleep January 15th, 2026, after a brief battle with cancer. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, Robert lived his life with quiet strength and deep faith deeply devoted to his family and communities.

Born on July 12th, 1958, in Omaha Nebraska to an Allen and Marjorie Thornberg he spent his youth in San Diego before making his home in Corvallis Oregon. Over the years he worked for Corvallis School District, Boys and Girls Club and Corvallis Parks and Rec, where he was able to bring his love of sports, organization and people into a fulfilling joyful career. Robert was a lifelong Padre's fan, a Beaver Believer, and long time Corvallis Knights supporter. He hosted many exchange students over the years and was dedicated to his faith and deeply active with his church, Suburban Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Marcie Thornberg, who he's dedicated the last two years to caring for, after she had suffered a stroke. He looked after her with the continued love and dedication he had shown for her in their previous 25 years of marriage, achieving what everyone hopes to in a loving marriage and his older sister Lanelle Killion who is not only a sister, but a devoted best friend. He was also survived by his two daughters Elizabeth Cogburn and Jennifer Anderson, and the lights of his life, his 8 wonderful grandchildren, Brieahna, Derek, John Wayne, Victoria, and James Cogburn as well as Isabelle, Niels, and Maxwell Anderson, whom he actively loved and prioritized daily.

A celebration of life will be at 10 am Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Suburban Christian Church, located at 2760 SW 53rd Street.
