Robert Dean Thurston, 77, passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 20, 2025.
Bob was born on January 10, 1948, in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Kenneth and Marie Thurston. He grew up in Pingree, Idaho, and later graduated from BYU in accounting.
Bob & his family made their home in Twin Falls, Idaho, where he worked as a CPA for over four decades. He loved his community where he coached several baseball teams, served on the library board and on the Boy Scout Council.
Bob was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in many callings. He especially loved using the Spanish he learned during his mission to Guatemala and El Salvador. His faith in Jesus Christ and his belief in eternal families shaped the way he lived, loved, and worked.
Above all, Bob cherished his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Margie, his four children Adrianne, Robert, Natalie, & Matthew, his five grandchildren, and many extended family members whom he loved deeply.
Bob's life will be celebrated on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. MST at Nelson Family Mortuary, 4780 North University Avenue, Provo, Utah, 84604. All are welcome to attend. The Board of Friends of Stricker extends its deepest condolences to the family and friends of Bob Thurston. For many years, he voluntarily assisted our local history group by preparing our annual tax information and answering any questions that we had about our status. Bob was such a wonderful, kind person. I had the benefit of being his business partner. He had such a love for his clients and worked tirelessly to help them. He is missed. He was such an avid BYU fan, dedicated gardener, and fond of Dr. Pepper ;). He loved his wife dearly and was so tender and caring to her.
