Obituary published on Legacy.com by Absolute Economical Funeral Home LLC on Feb. 18, 2026.
Robert "Bob" Van Ness passed away at home in Edmond, Oklahoma, on February 16, 2026, at the age of 65.

Bob was born on April 16, 1960, in Englewood, California. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Ruby Mettle, who lovingly raised him, his father, Gerald Van Ness, and his mother, Merilyn Mohart.

Bob will be remembered for his strength of character, his kindness, and the steady presence he brought to the lives of those around him. He had a way of making people feel welcome and valued, and his quiet generosity left a lasting impression on family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Debby; his daughter, Gabrielle Van Ness Havellana, and her husband, Aaron, and their daughters, Leilani and Kalea; his son, Jeremy, and his children, Llayton, Brinlee, and Reighlee; his step-son, Phillip Trissal, and his wife, Rebeca, and their children, Aiden, Mason, and Ava; his step-daughter, Leann Miller, and her husband, Jordan, and their son, Dalton, and her daughter, Allannah Fogelman, and her fiancé, Dakota Crumbliss; his brother, Russ; and many nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.

Bob enjoyed a long career as a Parts Manager at the Yukon, Oklahoma location for Utility Tri-State. As a young man, he participated in rodeo events and became a certified scuba diver, embracing adventure and new experiences. He loved spending time on the boat at Beaver Lake, had a passion for motorcycles-especially his beloved Harley-and enjoyed deer hunting. Bob also loved outdoor cooking and took great pride in his outdoor kitchen, sharing meals and memories with family and friends.

Bob cherished his role as a husband, father, grandfather, and stepfather. His family was his greatest joy, and he took pride in the love and connection they shared. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
