Robert Vasilik Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Edder Funeral Home, Inc. - Girard on Jan. 1, 2026.
Robert Vasilik, 52, of Girard, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at AHN Saint Vincent Hospital.
Bob was born on July 28, 1973, a son of the late Andrew J. Vasilik Sr. and Deborah (McNeish) Vasilik.
He was a graduate of Girard High School, where he distinguished himself as both a football player and a wrestler. Bob's competitive spirit stayed with him throughout his life-he loved any contest and was always eager to play and win. He became especially skilled at horseshoes, with his nieces and nephews always hoping to be on his team.
Bob participated monthly in a poker league, enjoying not only the game but the camaraderie and laughter that came with it. On nights out, he loved to dance and earned the nickname "The Dancing Machine," always willing to have fun and make others smile. He was an avid hunter, spending fall seasons archery and rifle hunting for deer.
The Hollywood Café, a family camp, was a favorite place for Bob to relax, play cards, and share laughs. Family was paramount to him, and often a gathered for holidays and special events. He also enjoyed riding four-wheelers through the trails, and when they inevitably broke down, Bob became adept at fixing them-a skill he generously shared while helping others whenever they needed assistance. He was always willing to give his time and energy to anyone in need. He loved hanging with his fiends at any given time.
Bob loved his animals and cherished spending time playing with them. His passion for the Pittsburgh Steelers was immense; he watched every game on the edge of his seat and knew the ins and outs of the team. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #494.
Following his high school education, Bob began his working career at Zurn Manufacturing before transferring to Accuride Erie, where he served in multiple positions until retiring due to health concerns.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his great-niece, Alivia Westerberg.
Bob will be deeply missed by his family and friends, including his longtime companion, Marni Ross; sister, Roxanne Mazloa (Tony); brother, Andrew J. Vasilik Jr. (Lisa); nieces and nephews: Aaron Vasilik (Brandy), Alex "Chub" Vasilik, Alyssa Vasilik (Andrew), and Adam "Jim" Vasilik; great-nieces and nephews, Addie Vasilik and Waylon Westerberg. Bob will also be greatly missed by Autumn Sanders, Brandon Tercho, David Sanders, Harley McCauley, and Shyanne McCauley.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Robert Vasilik Memorial Fund, c/o Edder Family Funeral Home.
Friends may call on Monday, January 5, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Edder Family Funeral Home, 309 Main Street East, Girard. A funeral service will be held there on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m.

I can't believe my friend Bobby V is gone.......This hurts so much. He was my brother from a different mother. From the 1st day we met at Accuride, it was on! I played in a horseshoe tournament with him, and Bob took me to a Pittsburgh and Browns game, and my Browns won. I lost my voice that night, and Bob was so happy that I lost my voice so he didn't have to listen to my mouth lol. On my 30th birthday. Bob hang out with me that night and we were out clubbing and dancing all night. So much to put on here. I'm gonna miss you my friend

My sincere condolences to the family. I knew Bobby from working at Accuride for many years. He was a good man and friend. I will miss his cheerful smile. RIP Bobby.
