Cimarron - Robert G. Vath, 81, died February 19, 2025 at The Shepherd's Center in Cimarron, Kansas. He was born on December 19, 1943 in Dodge City, Kansas the son of Irwin G. and Muriel L. (Baker) Vath.
He married Elizabeth Jane Schartz on June 6, 1965 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Ingalls, Kansas she survives. He enjoyed sports, playing cards and attending his children's and grandchildren's activities when possible. He lived the life of farming, which he leaves as a family legacy for his children. Mr. Vath worked as a History and Mathematics teacher at both the junior high and high school levels in Kirwin, Kansas; Satanta, Kansas and Cimarron, Kansas. He also worked as a Track and Field and Football coach for those school districts as well.
He is survived by his wife Jane of the home; three daughters Amy Vath Mayo of Prairie Village, Kansas; Shelly Hibbert and husband Joe of Cimarron, Kansas; Sara Nason and husband Todd of Manhattan, Kansas; one son Andy Vath and wife Jaclyn of Cimarron, Kansas. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and one sister Corinne Kugler of Cimarron, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two grandsons Nicholas Hibbert and Clayton Vath and two sisters Carolyn Domingo and Candice Becker.
Memorial Mass will be held at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 12:00 PM with Rev. Ben Green presiding. Private burial will take place at a later time at the Cimarron Cemetery in Cimarron. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to The Shepherd's Center, Cimarron, Kansas or Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral home.
