Robert Vaughn Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hayes Funeral Home, Inc. on Sep. 29, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Robert Louis "Bob" Vaughn, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and faithful servant of the Lord, went home to be with his Savior on September 26, 2025.

Born on April 29, 1943, to Paul and Betty Vaughn, Bob grew up in a home that shaped his love for family. He later married the love of his life, Sharon, on April 4, 1981, and together they built a family and a legacy of love and devotion that will carry on for generations.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Betty Vaughn; his brothers, Mike and Jack Vaughn; and his grandson, Stephen Wayne Vaughn, Jr. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon; his sons, Stephen Vaughn, Sr., and wife Michelle, Justin Vaughn and wife Rachel, and Sean Vaughn and wife Tiffani; his sisters, Vickie Gruben and Gail Helton; and by Danny King, Ben King, Melissa Helton, and Kelly Kinder. He also leaves behind 19 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews who cherished him deeply.

Bob's life was marked by dedication to both his work and his calling. He worked as a computer programmer for seven years, but his greatest impact was in ministry. He pastored Community Church in Pasadena, Texas, for 15 years, faithfully shepherding God's people. In 1978, he founded KJIC Radio, 90.5 FM, a ministry that continues to share the message of Christ across the airwaves today.

Those who knew Bob will remember his gentle spirit, patient heart, and godly character. He was a man of wisdom and intelligence, hardworking and faithful, always ready to articulate the scriptures with clarity and grace. He lived with quiet strength, a deep love for his family, and unwavering loyalty to the Lord.

Bob's life was a testimony of God's grace and faithfulness, and his legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched.
