Robert "Bob" O. Venetta Jr., 85, a lifelong resident of Hermitage, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 22, 2024, after a brief illness.
Mr. Venetta was born on March 28, 1938, in Buhl Hospital, Sharon, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Robert O. Sr. and Edith M. (Weiser) Venetta.
Robert was a member of the Hickory High School class of 1957. He proudly served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged on October 7, 1963.
He was employed as a crane man at Sharon Steel from May 10, 1965, retiring on October 17, 1992.
Robert looked forward to Thursday shopping trips and lunch with his wife. He was a "Jack of All Trades" working around the house, gardening, and loved doing sudoku puzzles. He also enjoyed watching baseball, football, basketball and was an avid Steelers and Pirates fan. His family will forever be grateful for the exceptional care he gave to his aging parents.
His beloved wife of 62 years, Violet (Tatomirovic) Venetta whom he married September 9, 1961, in St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, Farrell, Pennsylvania survives at home.
Robert will be deeply missed by his wife Violet; son, Robert M. Venetta; two daughters, Francine (Edward) Fabian, Christine (John) Cataloni; seven grandchildren, Matthew (Dina) Fabian, Natasha (Joshua) Good, Gabriella Cataloni, Vincent Venetta, Gianna Cataloni, Grace Cataloni, and Gavin Venetta; five great-grandchildren, Tenley, Sawyer and Quinn Fabian, and Sienna and Isabella Good; a sister, Edith Aiken; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Norbert & Delores Vasil; a sister-in-law, Mona Tatomirovic; and many loving nephews and nieces.
Mr. Venetta was preceded in death by his parents.

Calling hours will be 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday (02/24/2024) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 East State St., Sharon. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.McGonigleFuneralHomeandCrematory.com
Funeral service will immediately follow at 7 p.m. Saturday, in the funeral home, with Rev. Anthony Kladitis, officiating.
Interment: St. John's Orthodox Cemetery, Hermitage.
