Robert James Vogel Jr.

Robert James Vogel Jr.; of Lake Orion; age 73; passed away on December 18, 2025. Bob is the beloved husband of Julie Holt for 32 years; dear son of Robert James Vogel Sr. and the late Janette Vogel; loving father of Robert James Vogel lll (Tracey), Kimberly Manriquez (Aaron), Samantha Stover and Mitchell Holt; brother of Paula Duran (Joe), Mark Vogel and Kathleen Voorheis (Scott); and grandfather of Jacob, Rylee and Sierra Manriquez. Bob was preceded in death by his mother Janette Vogel, his grandparents Leona and Ralph Vogel and Grace and Chester Schultz and his brother Timothy Vogel.
Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was a hardworking man who started working at General Motors after high school and attended college at night while working full time until he achieved his Engineering degree. He had a 46 year career at GM where he made many friendships. His best friend Kerry Ruhig was always there for him even through his most difficult days.
Bob was a kind and considerate person who always put the needs of others before his own. He was a man of few words but had a very big heart. Bob was the most proud of his children. He excelled at weightlifting and waterskiing and enjoyed fishing. He loved his cats and took very good care of them every day. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.
A Memorial Service will be held on December 26, 2025 at 4pm at Modetz Funeral Home Silverbell Chapel, 100 E. Silverbell Rd., Orion. The family will welcome friends for a visitation from 3pm until the time of service.
