Robert (Bob) Louis Wagner, Sr., 97, passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Cox South Hospital, surrounded by his family.

He was born on April 23, 1928, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Herman and Victoria (Danforth) Wagner. On April 3, 1949, he married Mary Lay, and together they shared 64 years of marriage until her passing on April 18, 2013.

Bob proudly served his country in the Army National Guard for 25 years. His career included working for the Greene County Road and Bridge Department before becoming the building superintendent at the Greene County Courthouse, followed by service to the Greene County Courts where he faithfully served under Judge Mcguire and Judge Keeter until his retirement in 1991.

Dedicated to his community, Bob was a firefighter and board member of the Ebenezer Fire Department. He was also a member of Robberson Prairie Baptist Church.

Family and friends were at the center of Bob's life. He loved fishing, hunting, sharing meals, and enjoying a good cup of coffee-always with a story to tell. Even at the age of 97, he went on a fishing trip this past summer.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Wagner, and their daughter, Mary Ann Wagner.

Bob is survived by his daughter, Judy Schupbach (Hal), his son, Robert Wagner, Jr. (Pam); five grandchildren, Chris Schupbach (Alicia), Cara Anderson (Levi), Robby Wagner, Jeremy Wagner(April), and Matthew Wagner (Ashley); and seven great-grandchildren, Logan and Caitlyn Anderson, Lorelei and Beckett Schupbach, Kadence and Grayson Wagner, and Sonja Wagner. He is also survived by his sister, Alice Allen, and his brother, Al Wagner (Velma).

Visitation will be Thursday, September 11, 2025 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Greenlawn North. Graveside services will be Friday, September 12, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Clear Creek Cemetery.
