After a prolong illness at Jerseyville Manor, we announce the passing of Robert "Red" Wagner on November 15, 2025.
Robert was born on August 27, 1944, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Alton. The son of Lewis and Rose (Telkamp) Wagner. He was one of four children, Paul Wagner, Virginia Wagner, and Vera (Eugene) Brink. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Rose (Telkamp) Wagner, and his sister Vera and his brothers-in-law, Eugene.
In his early years, Robert loved to hunt, fish, and garden. He worked at Olin Brassmill, Labor's Union 218, and Hamilton Security Inc. Later in life, he would play his banjo, listen to bluegrass music, and talk to friends on the phone.
Visitation will be held at Gress, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Brussels on Monday, November 24, 2025, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.
Funeral mass will be Monday, November 24, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Brussels.
Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
Memorials can be made to St. Mary's Cemetery, the Calhoun County Ambulance, or family choice.
