Robert Wayne Walker, 75, of Monahans, passed away on April 15, 2024.
Robert W. Walker was born in Fairfield Alabama to Mamie Allgood Walker (Tootsie) and W. D. Walker on February 27, 1949.
Robert grew up in Lipscomb, Alabama. He was active in the church and enjoyed playing sports throughout his youth.
He graduated from Jones Valley High School in Birmingham, Alabama in 1967. After briefly attending Auburn University, Robert served in the U. S. Navy from 1969 to 1978. He attended Tyler Junior College before working as a Safety and Environmental Coordinator in the oil and gas industry. Robert eventually returned to college, earning a B. A. in Psychology from University of Texas Permian Basin with a 4.0 GPA
Robert was an avid reader, gardener, and had a lifelong passion for learning and education. He was interested in music, literature, philosophy, and psychology, and fostered an intellectual curiosity in those around him.
Robert lived his values: Humility, patience, and kindness to others. His calm reserve was a comfort to those around him. He was patient, forgiving, and encouraging.
The family has forgone services in keeping with the wishes of the deceased.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Tootsie and W. D. Walker.
Robert is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sina Malone Walker, his daughter Tammy Walker Godwin (Jimbo), son Robert "Robby" Walker (Athenia Oldham), granddaughter Sway Godwin, sisters Margaret Nivens (Kerry), and Nell Wilson (Joe), and many beloved family members.
