Robert Michael (Mike) Walker, affectionately known as “Fuzzy” was born on April 8, 1959, to Ann and Bobby Joe Walker of San Angelo, TX.
Mike grew up in San Angelo and Lubbock, Texas, playing baseball and basketball but found his passion for the game of golf while attending Monterey High School. He was on the golf team while at Monterey and graduated with the Class of 1977. After high school, Mike attended Texas Tech University and then worked as an assistant golf professional at several country clubs. He started building his lawn and landscaping business while still giving golf lessons.
Mike enjoyed the outdoors and going out to the ranch at “James River” in Mason, TX, where he loved to hunt and fish with his grandfather, “Pa.” He also enjoyed finding “good deals” at flea markets, garage sales and estate sales. He could always supply you with 1 or 2 of anything you needed or did not know you needed. Mike had a kind and generous heart and was always ready and willing to help others.
Mike was an avid reader with a dry sense of humor and enjoyed people. Mike was “real” but genuine and kind, and what you saw was what you got with Fuzzy.
Mike was preceded in death by his dad Bobby Joe Walker, his maternal grandparents Walter and Evelyn Zesch and his paternal grandparents Lorna and Robert Walker.
He is survived by his son Robert Paul Sullivan of Lubbock, TX; his mother Ann Walker of Lubbock, TX; sister and brother-in-law Joanne and Sam Douglass of Heath, TX; brother Dean Walker of Arlington, TX; and many dear aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
