Robert "Bob" J. Walrod Sr., age, 81, of Grafton, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at his home, surrounded by family.
He was born in Toledo to Maynard and Isabelle and had been a resident of Grafton for 27 years. He was a graduate of the University of Toledo with a BA in Chemical Engineering.
He married the love of his life, Joyce Ann on May 7, 1966, and just celebrated their 58th anniversary.
Robert served in the US Army and worked in sales for Foseco for over 30 years before retiring. He also served on the Board of American Foundrymen Society.
He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Grafton.
Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, Manhattans and spending time with his kids, grandkids and great-grandson.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce, children, Terese (John) Kelley of Daytona Beach, Florida, Carrie Ann Zabawa of Toledo, grandchildren, Greggory (Mia), Emily, Abigail, Justin, Alyssa, Samantha, Daniel and Logan, great-grandchild, Evan, brother, John (Jodi), sister-in-law, Judy, many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Jr., granddaughter, Angelia, brothers David and James, nephew, David, parents, Maynard and Isabelle Walrod.
Friends may call Sunday from 3-7PM at Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday at 10AM at Our Lady Queen of Peace, 708 Erie St., Grafton. Fr. John Seabold, Pastor, will be the celebrant. Please meet at church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the David M. Walrod Scholarship Fund at St. Francis de Sales High School in Toledo at www.sfsknights.org
