WALSH, Robert Elroy - age 93 of Flushing, died November 15, 2023. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Monday, November 20, 2023, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 402 S. Ballenger Hwy, Flint 48532. Interment will follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 9 AM - 10 AM Monday at the church. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to St. Paul Lutheran Church. Mr. Walsh was born in Grand Rapids, MI on September 19, 1930, moving to Genesee County as a child. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church since1948. Active many years in the choir as a teller, trustee, and prime timer. He was a member of the National Guard. Mr. Walsh was a graduate of GMI and worked at GM Chevrolet Manufacturing as a skilled tradesman in tool and die retiring in 1981. He was an avid sportsman, loved camping and was active in FCRV Waggin Wheels Camping Club. Mr. Walsh was also active in the Senior Winter Olympics and senior bowling leagues. He also enjoyed gardening. Surviving are: wife, Norma H. Walsh; four children, Dennis (Brenda) Walsh, Rev. Jeffrey (Joanne) Walsh, Susan (Rev. Michael) Awe, and Patricia Dormire; 12 grandchildren, Matt (Andrea) Walsh, Brock Walsh, Rachel (Kurt) Brandon, Sarah (Matt) Renkiewicz, Christopher (Kimber) Walsh, Hannah Walsh, Adam Awe, Lauren (Jimmy) Buse, Kirsten (Curtis) Furher, Briana (Johnny) Crannie, Kaitlin Dormire, and Jennifer (Steve) Mullins; 17 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert, and Grace (Arndt) Walsh; brother, Albert Walsh; and son-in-law, Robert Dormire. The family extends a special thank you to the staff at Western Hills Living and ProMedica Hospice for their care.
