Robert Franklin Walters

Rev. Robert Franklin Walters, 85, of Mooresville, Indiana, a longtime Vermillion County resident, passed peacefully at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, with them by his side, on Monday, December 8, 2025. He was born on Saturday, April 27, 1940, in West Terre Haute, Indiana, to the late Charles Theodore and Nora (Pruett) Walters. A proud graduate of Concannon High School in West Terre Haute, Mr. Walters was well-known as a basketball star during his school years. In his later years, he enjoyed birdwatching, and whenever he was able, he loved fishing. He was also an avid cat lover. A devoted man of God, Mr. Walters served as a minister for most of his life, preaching for many years at Daily Chapel Christian Church in Rosedale, Indiana. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, attaining the rank of PFC. On June 11, 1960, he married the love of his life, Beverly Jeanne (Foltz) Walters, who preceded him in death on August 21, 2016. He leaves behind his son and daughter-in-law, Robert V. and Tiffany Walters of Mooresville, Indiana; his daughter, Valarie Walters of West Terre Haute, Indiana; his granddaughter, Demeteria; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Luke; his brothers, Jack, Charlie, Joe and Allen Walters; and his sister, Nora Mae Horner. His family will have a private time of viewing before cremation. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Morgan County Humane Society, 690 W.
