Robert "Bob" Ward

Bob Ward, 94, of Russellville, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born March 8, 1931, in Marmaduke to Carlos and Vera N. Lowe Ward.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Mr. Ward was known for his strong work ethic and deep love of family. He worked in shipping and receiving with ConAgra Foods, where his dedication and reliability left a lasting impression. Beyond his career, he found his greatest joy in the simple but meaningful moments of life-reading his Bible and western novels, watching old westerns on television, and most of all, spending time surrounded by those he loved.

Mr. Ward was a member of the American Legion and proudly served his country. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty AnnaLee Jackman Ward; his parents; six sisters; and three brothers.

Survivors include three daughters, Nancy (Darrel) Pitt, Beverly Peres and Jill Wright, all of Russellville; five grandchildren, Ryan (Misty) Pitt, Christina Peres, Christopher (Sondra) Wright, Lindsey (Brittany) Kanakis and Blake Wright; four great-grandchildren, Caleb Pitt, Jackson Wright, Beau Wright and Caroline Wright; a sister, Betty Barnhart; and a brother, Clay Ward.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at McFadden Cemetery in Dover with Pastor Earl Helton officiating. Burial will follow in McFadden Cemetery by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
