Christian Biography of Robert D. Webber

Robert D. Webber, the son of Stanley and Beulah (Hines) Webber, was born on September 3, 1946 in Superior, Nebraska. He passed away on May 16, 2024 at the Brodstone Healthcare at Superior, Nebraska at the age of 77 years, 8 months, 13 days.

Besides being Master Electrician, he loved gardening, hunting, fishing, racing and motorcycles. Growing up on the Republican River he enjoyed many hours hand fishing and “calling” those big cats up with his Dad and Uncles. His life long love of racing and motorcycles was influenced by his Dad “Fred” Webber, who raced himself and later was Bob’s crew chief. Raced mostly local tracks in Nebraska and Kansas including the High Banks of Belleville, where he raced stock cars and motorcycles. Early 1982, he met Deb Filipi, and together they enjoyed the freedom of just riding with their faces in the wind. They also shared a love of gardening and together started Riverside Gardens in Superior. They not only did they mow, but operated a greenhouse and truck garden that was certified internationally organic.

In 1992, they were married and moved to Narka, Kansas where they purchased a flower shop and settled into country life. Because of their racing experiences and love of the “Big Half Mile” in Belleville, they were more than happy to help serve on the committee that organized and built the H.B. Hall of Fame Midget Museum. Working for years to promote and preserve the history of the “big track.”

Bob loved being close to nature and wildlife and experiencing what it had to offer. Not as much as he loved his family. He shared the love of the outdoors as well as the family’s Cherokee Indian Heritage. He was so proud to become a great grandpa. Bragged about the kids to anyone who would listen.

Bob was a former Police Officer for the City of Superior. He was a man of endless jokes and smiles. He loved nothing more than to make the people he loved smile. He was so proud to always tell the story of him holding Mike and Mark’s as kids, jumping his bike loft in the air. Grandpa was always giving to others, and checking in on others and given them grief. He was goofy, giving, and was full of knowledge about everything. More than anything he loved his family. He was always checking in on everyone to make sure they had an awesome time. We all know he’s up there cranking his hog.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jimmy and sister Shirley.

Survivors include his wife Deb; sons Mark (Yuhne) and Michael (Leigh Ann); grandchildren Lexi, Braxton, Anders, Ashley and Johan; great grandchildren Nayvie Roberts and Emerson Webber; other relatives and a host of friends.

Per Bob’s wishes there is no service planned. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Condolences may be sent to Megrue-Price Funeral Home, 750 N Commercial, Superior, Nebraska 68978 or in care of www.pricefuneralhomes.com.
