Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Cremation Preneed Care - Battle CreekRobert (Bob) Edward Wedel, 75, of Battle Creek, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 after a brief illness.
Bob was born in Battle Creek on September 1, 1950 to parents Clarence William (Bill) Wedel Jr. and Margaret Pauline (Polly) née Barney.
After high school graduation from Battle Creek Central in 1968, Bob was drafted into the United States Army where he served until October 1974 as part of the U.S. Army Maintenance Company within the 91 Military Occupational Specialty (MOS).
On July 4, 1988, Bob married the "Love of His Life", Imogene "Ema" Norrod in Battle Creek, Michigan. They recently celebrated 37 years of marriage. She survives.
When he married Ema, he became a loving father to daughters, Jessica Mulder (Tony) Richard and Nickole Mulder. They survive.
Bob worked for 28 years as a Master Electrician at the Kellogg Company, retiring in 2014. As a Master Electrician, he held and maintained many certifications from Kellogg Community College RMTC in Battle Creek. Bob had many hobbies and being with his family and spending time in his church were paramount. Throughout his entire life, you could find Bob helping others and leaving people better than he found them. He was a premier Apple Computer and Device user, expert and collector. He was an IT guy “for fun” and before it was cool; spending time learning to type braille and teaching his kids and family to code. Forever curious and fascinated by how things work or were made, he had many short term hobbies, like home brewing beer.
Bob is survived by his wife, Ema; his daughters, Nickole and Jessica; his sisters, Wendy (Glen) Rairigh, Denay Valentin; his brother, Jon “Jay” (Laura) Wedel; grandchildren, Alicia Best, Christopher Ludwick, Cole Robert Mulder-Bowman, Cody Richard, Jordyn Richard; and his great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret Pauline (Polly) Nay and Clarence William (Bill) Wedel Jr.; and older brother, William "Billy" Jon Wedel.
2 Timothy 4: 7-8“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on this day…”
