Robert Mark West

Robert Mark West, age 68, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2025. Born in Houston on July 19, 1957, Mark lived a life defined by purpose, creativity, and a deep love for his family.

After graduating from high school, Mark built a long and successful career in the oil and gas industry. Through vision and perseverance, he went on to found his own directional drilling company alongside a few close friends and trusted partners, earning the respect of colleagues and peers as a creator, innovator, and leader.

Mark approached life with quiet strength and fearless resolve, meeting both success and challenge with humility and resilience. He found joy on the golf course, through travel, hiking and walking, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren, cherishing the experiences that became lasting memories. Gentle in spirit, yet unwavering in conviction, he was profoundly devoted to his family. His warmth, generosity, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his high school sweetheart and beloved wife, Dana West; his sons, Brandon West and Jonathan West; his daughter, Sarah West; his sister, Vickie Williams; and his five grandchildren, Audrey, Alex, Andy, Liam, and Clayton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Carolyn West.

He will be remembered in the stories shared, the lessons passed on, and the lives shaped by knowing him.

A Memorial Service celebrating Mark's life will be held Friday, January 23, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Second Baptist Church, Woodway Campus, Hankamer Chapel, 6400 Woodway Dr, Houston, TX 77057. A reception will follow services on the church campus.
