Douglas T Parrish, 86 passed away Monday, January 26, 2026 in Houston, TX. Doug was born September 23, 1939 in Kansas City, Missouri to Frank C Parrish II and Martha "Helen" (Goodwillie). Survivors include his brother Frank of Los Angles, California. His wife of 37years Leila (Raven) their daughter Alexandra Wade (Charlie) of Plano. TX. His sons Stephen (Kate) of Arlington, Texas; Lucas (Robin) of Wylie, TX, and their mother Peggy Lively. His four grandchildren: Devon Parrish (Ft Worth), Jack Parrish (Arlington), Ella "Douggie" Parrish (Austin) and sweet Savannah Wade (Plano).
Doug graduated from Shawnee Mission High School (Prairie Village, KS) in 1957, attending University of Colorado (Boulder) where he played the Clarinet in the marching band, transferring to Kansas State (Manhattan) graduating in1962. He was proud of his time in the Boy Scouts and the Marine Reserves specially making it through Parris Island.
Armco Steel brought Doug to Houston in 1964, a coworker invited him to join the Country Playhouse, where he thrived as a lighting designer, stage manager and Board Member serving as President twice. When Armco Steel closed in the 80s he became a Sales Rep for Berg Steel Pipe retiring in 2012.
Doug's leadership continued in the community as he served our HOA as Board member and President becoming a founding member of the City of Houston's Eldridge/West Oaks Super Neighborhood #17 in 2009, serving as President for 6+ years.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents, his younger brother David Parrish and his second wife Toni Florence.
Doug was a voracious reader, reading the Houston Chronicle and Wall Street Journal print editions daily. To honor Doug's memory, subscribe to a newspaper.
His family came together, January 30, to mourn their loss. Internment will take place at a later date.
