Holiday Shores:
Robert Lee Wheeler, 81, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, in his home. He was born on August 14, 1943, in Pittsfield, Illinois, the son of the late Vincent Eugene and Katheryn Leona (Lacy) Wheeler. Survivors include his beloved wife: Mary Wheeler, daughter: Laura Wheeler and fiancé: Justin Conley, brother and sister-in-law: Dale and Patty Wheeler, a dear cousin: Cheryl Selves, as well as extended family and friends.
Robert was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend. As a profession he worked as an electrician for over forty years at Laclede Steel in Alton, IL. He was also a veteran of the United States Army, being discharged in December of 1969.
In retirement Robert enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was a hot rod enthusiast and a member of the Illinois FBI Hot Rod Club. With his passion for creating, he pursued woodworking and made everything from furniture, keepsakes, artwork, and custom commissions.
There was not a stranger that Robert (Bob) had ever met. This was evident in the long-lasting friendships he cultivated over his life. Robert was a selfless and kind soul, who touched the lives of many. He will be deeply missed by all. In his remembrance may we extend kindness to those around us and love eternally.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Operation Blessing or to Rebuilding Together Southwestern Illinois Chapter, Edwardsville, IL.
