Robert Earl Whitney III, a cherished soul and talented retired sports journalist for the Baytown Sun, left this world on August 24, 2024, in his birthplace of Liberty, Texas. Born on September 7, 1973, Robert brought laughter and light to all who knew him. His great sense of humor was onled by his profound love and adoration for his children, Lyri Reese Whitney and Robert Early Whitney IV, with whom he shared countless joyous moments.
Robert's life was enriched by a deep passion for writing and sports, the joys of wrestling, and the captivating realms of Star Wars. He often found magic in the stories he penned and the games he loved, igniting that same spark in others around him. A loving and devoted family man, he left an indelible mark on the lives of his loved ones.
He is survived by his beloved mother, Ann Adams, and her husband, Charles, alongside his brothers, Charlie Adams and his wife Toni, and Chad Adams and his wife Leigh. His spirit also lives on in the hearts of his sisters, Amanda Mills and her husband Larry, Brenda Jannise, and Laura Damon and her husband Dennis, as well as Tammy Beam and her husband Tim. The family will remember his laughter and the warmth he brought into their lives.
Robert's passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but he is lovingly remembered by many relatives and a host of friends whose lives have been touched by his kindness and humor. He is also preceded in death by his Godparents, Ernie and Marie Wickesser, who will welcome him with open arms.
Though Robert has departed from this earthly existence, the legacy of love, laughter, and passion he left behind will live on through his family and the memories they cherish.
