John W. Whitney III, 62, resident of Amherst, NH, died on August 26, 2025, at the Catholic Medical Center, Manchester, NH, after a period of declining health.
He was born on July 31, 1963, in Lowell, MA, a son of John and Darlene (Duggan) Whitney Jr.
John was raised and educated in Hollis, NH. He worked for many years in the restaurant industry and owned his own business with his wife, Lisa, in Virginia.
John enjoyed time spent hunting, visiting the mountains, watching baseball and tending to his garden before his health wouldn’t allow that any longer. He was a proud dog dad to Toby and Chloe. He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his loving wife, Lisa Whitney of Amherst, NH, his three children, Anna Whitney and her fiancée Nicholas Witczak, Alyssa and her husband Michael St. Aubin, Joshua Whitney and his fiancé, Puja Malaviya, his two grandchildren, Aubree and Hunter St. Aubin, two sisters, Tammy Morey and Cally Whitney and many close friends.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the East Cemetery, Wheeler Road, Hollis, NH. All are invited to meet directly at the cemetery.
