Virginia Marie Longland-Jeffers

Virginia Marie Longland, 68, of Amherst, NH, passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at the Southern New Hampshire Hospital in Nashua, NH.



Virginia, born in Waltham, MA on April 1st, 1957, was the daughter of the late Donald Tyler Longland and Mary Frances Theresa Trudeau Longland. She was the beloved wife of Rick Jeffers, both of whom lived in Amherst, NH. She was the sister of David Longland of Sudbury; Sister Faustina of The Order of the Franciscan Handmaids of the Immaculate in Bellingham, MA; Richard Longland of Petersham, MA and the late Judy Longland Kade. She was also survived by one nephew (Matthew Kade from CA), one niece, (Mollie Baker from CT), one grand-nephew (Mollie's son, Carl Baker) and many cousins.



Virginia grew up with her family and friends in Sudbury, MA and graduated from Lincoln-Sudbury High School in 1975. She met her husband-to-be, Rick Jeffers, in 1988, as a customer visiting Shawmut Bank in Providence Rhode Island. Professionally, Virginia worked at a number of different banks, including Shawmut and Citizens Bank, in several states throughout her career.



On March 31, 2025 she retired from her position as Associate Vice President and Branch Manager at Primary Bank of New Hampshire. She was a devoted daughter who visited her aging mother on a regular basis to prepare her meals and help with personal care. She volunteered to help seniors as well as women at temporary protection shelters. She also volunteered at local food pantries and offered assistance to the Salvation Army during the Christmas holidays.

Virginia is greatly blessed and sorely missed.
