Robert W. Whittemore

Robert "Whit" W. Whittemore, 78, of Warwick, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Born in Rhode Island to the late Royce W. Whittemore and Madeline (West) Whittemore, former husband of the late Roberta (Greene) Whittemore. Robert lived a life rooted in service, joy, and deep connection to his community and the coast he loved.
A dedicated educator, Robert taught in the Warwick public school system for 34 years, leaving a lasting impact on generations of students with his wisdom, patience, and quiet encouragement. His love of learning and commitment to teaching were hallmarks of a long and meaningful career.
Outside the classroom, Robert was an avid golfer and boater, spending many cherished days on the water and on the green. One of his favorite places in the world was Block Island, where he found peace and happiness in its natural beauty.
Robert is survived by his loving partner, Nancy K. Saccoia of Cumberland, RI, his brother, Ronald R. Whittemore and wife Maureen of Rehoboth, MA and his dear friend Timothy D. Saccoia of Boston, MA.
His visitation will be held Thursday August 14, 2025 from 4-7pm in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. His burial will be private.
