God had taken our hero home to be with mom on September 22, 2023. He was born on July 11, 1925 in Midvale, Idaho to Frank and Edith Wikoff. They moved several times since his dad was a farm hand, going to work wherever he could find it.
Dad attended schools near Weiser, Payette, and Cambridge areas. When he was in grade school, he had infantile paralysis and his mom still made him ride his horse to school in Troy, Idaho. So thankful he survived and wasn't paralyzed. He was too ornery to let it slow him down.
Dad enjoyed getting up to his cup of Joe and reading his Bible. He loved spending quiet time within prayer each day.
In his younger school years, he was in track and field, getting trophies and ribbons. Things even got interesting when he was a rodeo clown and did donkey basketball. It must have been hilarious.
Dad was a great servant. He would help anyone he knew or a stranger along the road, always taking tools, just in case, you never know when you might need them.
We believe his happiest times were driving a truck. His first truck job was from the Mesa, Idaho packing house driving applesauce trucks from Mesa to Portland and Seattle. Mom was always with him. The last trip he made to Seattle he told mom they were moving to Grangeville. That November, day before Thanksgiving in 1953, they did just that.
He worked at Vern's Grocery for 14 years and then drove trucks and finally retiring from Baker Trucking. When he retired, he received his truck steering wheel. It only had one million miles on it. He also helped build the new church.
When he wasn't driving truck. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, sledding, snowmobiling and camping. He was an active member of the Old Time Fiddlers. The prairie knew him well because of his handmade gut buckets. One Lewiston, Idaho music teacher even bought one for her class. Dad had a great sense of humor, was a practical joker and loved games. Still can't figure out how he kept winning.
Dad and mom had 69 years of marriage before her passing, forever romance but sometimes fiery. Mom would get jealous right to the end, thinking he was too friendly with the nurses.
Preceding him in death were his parents, siblings, grandson Dawson.
Survivors include his children Gwen Lough of Boise and Mark of Post Falls. His best friend and brother-in-law Bill Bridge always doing so much together. Grandsons Chad Lough, Ohio, Craig Lough, Boise, Josh and Tyler Wikoff of Coeur d'Alene; great grandchildren Parker Tilley, Boise, Ryland Lough, Boise, Layla Lough, Ohio, Juliana Lough, Boise, Logan and Katie of Coeur d'Alene, Peggy Woods and Randy Bridge, niece and nephew who always lived beside us.

A memorial service will be held at the Grangeville Christian Church on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 11:00 am. Arrangements are under the direction of the Blackmer Funeral Home, Grangeville.
