Robert Earl Wilkins, 72 of Fordsville, formerly of Owensboro, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at Fordsville Nursing Home. He was born July 23, 1953 in Daviess County to the late Kenneth and Evelyn Hedges Wilkins. Robert was retired from The Hon Co. and was a member of Christ Community Church. Family was very important to him and he especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, and horse racing, and was a member of the AmVets.
Robert was also preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Wilkins, a brother, Donnie Wilkins, and two sisters, Darlene Massie and Linda McPherson.
Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Marilyn, a daughter, Sherree Wilkins of Owensboro and a son, Jason Wilkins of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three stepchildren, Roy Henry of Owensboro, Robin Bingaman of Springfield, TN and Lesley Henry of Whitesville; three grandchildren, Abbie and Sheyenne Cherolis and Elizabeth Stanley, two great grandchildren, Lillie and Aimee Parsons; four stepgrandchildren and several step great grandchildren, five brothers, Wayne, Jerry, Tommy, Michael, and Rodney Wilkins, all of Owensboro; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Noon Friday, January 9 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 PM until 7 PM Thursday and from 10 AM until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
