Robert "Larry" Willcutt

Robert "Larry" Willcutt, age 79 of Lucedale, MS passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. Larry was born in Birmingham, AL, to Meldrid "Smython" and Mamie Louise "Nan" Beck Willcutt on July 13, 1945. He married Linda Killcreas on February 24, 1967.
After graduating from Lucedale High School in 1963, Larry received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Mississippi State University in 1969. He then began a 32-year career with Ciba-Geigy corporation in both McIntosh, AL and Greensboro, NC locations.
Larry was also a farmer for many years in his beloved Shipman community alongside neighbors and his lifelong friend Jerald Read.
Throughout his life, Larry enjoyed fishing, hunting, beekeeping, woodworking, wildlife management, gardening, and building projects (at home and church). He was extremely devoted to his extensive family in Walker County, AL and George County, MS. Larry was a trustee at Shipman United Methodist Church, leading the church through decades of change. In recent years, Larry and Linda joined Rocky Creek Baptist Church, where they quickly found community and grace.
Larry is survived by his wife of 58 years, Linda Killcreas Willcutt; daughter, Janene (Stephen) Daniels; son, Bill (Elizabeth) Willcutt; three grandchildren, Anna, Carrie,William; brother, Gary (Kathy) Willcutt;
Larry is preceded in death by his son, Samuel Larry Willcutt; parents, Smython and Nan Willcutt; and brother, Bruce Willcutt.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 21, 2025 from 5:00-7:00pm at Sigler Funeral Home, 4248 Main Street, Lucedale, MS. A second Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2025 from 10:00-11:00am at Rocky Creek Baptist Church, 2165 Rocky Creek Road, Lucedale.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at 11:00am at Rocky Creek Baptist Church, 2165 Rocky Creek Road, Lucedale. Interment will follow immediately at C. F. Ward Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Herschel Hill, Lance Thornhill, Scott Nix, Eric Nix, John Willcutt, Tosh Persons. Honorary Pall Bearers are Tommy Young, Sam Powe.
