Robert Alton “Bobby” Williams, Jr., 89, of Creedmoor, NC, passed away at his home on February 10, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Wiliams was born in Durham on October 15, 1936, to the late Robert Alton Williams, Sr. and Virginia Lucas Williams.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Williams predeceased by a son Howard “Howie” Williams; sisters, Virginia Fletcher, Bonita Brogden, Linda Honeycutt and Rose Marie Aiken.
Mr. Williams is survived by his wife of 70 years Delores Harris Williams; daughters, Terry W. Fields of Creedmoor, Lori W. Sykes and husband Jeff of Stem, Donna W. Stallings and husband Roy of Oxford; brother, Danny Williams and wife Kathy of Oxford; grandchildren, Kevin Fields (Heather), Kristi Sizemore (Billy), Jonathan Stallings (Kristen), Blake Sykes (Lisa), and Kelly Sykes; great grandchildren, Camden, Logan and Brayden Fields, Andrew and Asher Stallings, Annabelle and Zoey Sykes, and Angel and Sawyer Sizemore; special nephew, Jeff Honeycutt and wife Katy; son-in-law, Ronnie Fields and daughter-in-law Rose Yates; many other nieces and nephews.
Mr. Williams was employed for 40 years with the North Carolina News Group, where he dedicated much of his professional life with commitment and pride. A faithful member of New Beginnings Church in Franklinton, NC, he found great joy in his church family and his faith. He deeply loved his family and cherished every moment spent with them. Mr. Williams had a passion for Christian music and enjoyed playing his guitar. He was an avid Duke fan and rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his team. When he was able, he also found peace and relaxation in fishing.
A visitation will be held on Saturday February 14, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Home followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Reverend Roy Stallings. Reverend Earnest Thompson will officiate the committal service at South Granville Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Chad Woodall, Tony Philpott, Jim Zweck, Cody Norwood, Stuart Aycock and Andy Sykes.
Flowers are acceptable or donations for Duke Homecare Hospice.
The family would like to thank the staff at Duke Homecare Hospice for their loving care during this time.
