Robert Williams Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sunset Funeral & Cremation Services and Cemetery - North Olmsted on Jan. 12, 2026.
Celebrating a life well lived! On January 9, 2026, Robert Keith Williams, husband and father of four, passed away at the age of 86. Bob was born to Joseph E. and Ruth H. Williams in Lorain, Ohio, on December 8, 1939. He had one brother, Joseph R. Williams.

Bob married Rita Williams on October 14, 1961. Bob and Rita proceeded to raise four children, Jackie, Keith, Joe, and Sarita, in their Rocky River, Ohio home. Bob was an extremely hardworking father who was employed at CTS (the precursor to modern RTA). Bob was also a successful owner of several small businesses. His children remember spending time at his machine shop with his dog, Duke, and later driving their dad's limousines.

In 1979, Bob and Rita bought a summer cottage in Marblehead, Ohio. Bob enjoyed spending his limited free time with his family on the shores of Sandusky Bay. Bob loved sailing and teasing Rita about the various plants she started in pots around the cottage. Bob saw his cottage fill with his growing family, which eventually came to include spouses, 9 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. The freezer was always filled with popsicles to hand out to visitors!

In his retirement years, Bob and Rita spent the last decade traveling between Spring Hill, Florida, in the winter and Marblehead in the summer. Bob enjoyed traveling around the country on numerous bus trips and to Israel. He loved tending to his grape vines, sitting on his back porch, playing cards, and discussing world affairs.

What Bob enjoyed doing the most was drinking a cup of black coffee and playing cards with Rita. His family was always inevitably showing up to visit Bob and Rita and interrupting a spirited game of cards! It should be noted, because Bob isn't here to argue, that Rita usually won.

Bob was preceded in death by his father, mother, and brother. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Rita, his four children and their spouses, Jacki, Keith (Dawn), Joseph (Jennifer), and Sarita (Pete). He is also survived by his nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life is to be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Stein Hospice and/or Western Reserve Hospice.
