Robert Leland “Hank” Williams, 86, of Lunenburg, VA went to be with the Lord in Heaven on March 29, 2026. He was the son of the late Leland and Ethel Williams and brother of the late Betty Mae Williams Marker.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth Reed Williams; his sons, Alan Williams (Angie) and Ronnie Williams (Tammy); his grandchildren, Ashley Garrett (Chris), Brooke Williams, Garrett Williams, Laura Dyke (Jared) and Jeffery Crenshaw; 5 great-grandchildren, Spiro, Declan, Cora Fay, Oaklen and Levi; his sisters, Lois Daniel (George), Geraldine Glasscock (Billy); brothers, Preston Williams (Frances) and Thomas Williams (Tricia); nieces, nephews, extended family, special family friend, Elizabeth Perez and many other friends.
Hank grew up in Lunenburg County. In 1962 he joined the US Army where he faithfully and honorably served our country. After being discharged from the Army he remained in the Virginia Army National Guard retiring as a Sergeant Major. He then went to work for the Civil Service at Fort Pickett and retired in 1999 as a Maintenance Inspector.
Hank enjoyed fishing, cooking, hunting, playing cards and helping others. He was a member of the Buckskin Hunt Club, American Legion Post 0147, Member and Past Commander of VFW Post 9954 and member, former Deacon and former Sunday School Teacher at Victoria Baptist Church where funeral services will be held Thursday, April 2, 2026 at 11AM. Interment to follow at the Lakeview Cemetery, Victoria.
The family will receive friends at Hank and Elizabeth’s home on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 and Wednesday, April 1, 2026 from 6 to 8PM.
