Robert Warren Willis, 81, of West Frankfort, passed away at 7:15 a.m., Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at his home.
Bob was born on July 29, 1941, in West Frankfort to Oscar and Wauynetta (Tweedy) Willis. He was united in marriage to Jean (Bell) Willis on September 1, 1995, in Paducah, Kentucky. Together they shared 27 years of marriage together.
Bob was a graduate of West Frankfort High School. He was retired having been a longtime insurance agent. He had previously been an agent for Country Companies and ended his career as an independent agent.
Bob was of the Christian faith. He enjoyed reminiscing about "the good old days" and his days of coaching softball and baseball. He also enjoyed mowing and working in his yard. Bob loved Lincoln vehicles and especially loved driving his wife's.
Bob is survived by his wife, Jean Willis of Johnston City; three sons, Craig (Kim) Willis of Potoka, IL, Chris (Sherri) Willis of Johnston City and Jason (Paula) Brandon of Johnston City; seven grandchildren, Dylan, Jaeda, Aaron, Darrian, and Hayden Willis, Christian and Carson Brandon; three great-grandchildren, Payslee, Brantley, and Kenzleigh; special friend, Sherry Gamble. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Dale, and Paul Willis; two sisters, Freida Brymer and Shirley White; one brother, Howard Willis.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Andy Lee officiating. Interment will follow at Whiteash in Whiteash Cemetery.
Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home the day of the service.
Pyle Funeral Home of Johnston City is entrusted with the arrangements.
