Timothy James Gray, 45, of Marion, passed away at 10:48 a.m., Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at his home.

Timothy was born on April 16, 1980, in Galesburg, Illinois to Daniel Gray and Candy (Bowles) Lemons. He was a graduate of Christopher High School. After graduating, Timothy joined the work force and started a longtime career as a coal miner.

Timothy had a love for motorcycles and working on vehicles. He enjoyed spending his time working in his garage and running his equipment. Timothy enjoyed living life to the fullest.

He is survived by his son, Chase Gray of Christopher; mother and stepfather, Candy and David Lemons of Christopher; significant other, Tina Niebel of Marion; siblings, Stacie Vercellino of Newburgh, IN, Heather (Mike) Galloway of Sesser, Jamie Jo (Justin) Carver of Du Quoin, Josh (Shannon) Lemons of Du Quoin, and Justin (Heather) Lemons of Du Quoin. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Daniel Gray; maternal grandparents, Walter & Helen Bowles; paternal grandparents, William & Bridget Gray.

A celebration of life visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City. A private family graveside inurnment will be held at Cuba Cemetery in Cuba, Illinois at a later date.

Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City is entrusted with the arrangements.
