Robert Gerald Wilson, 66, of Columbia, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2025, at Boone Hospital in Columbia. He was born on April 17, 1959, in Fulton, Missouri to Paul and Robertina Ann (Wilson) Roebuck.
Robert attended Manual High School in Kansas City, Missouri, where he graduated before joining his father's detailing business, Paul Roebucks & Sons. He later concluded his working life at Fulton State Hospital, dedicating 12 years before retiring.
Robert shared a deep passion for cooking and was known as an excellent chef, delighting his family and friends with wonderful dishes crafted from the heart. Sundays were especially cherished, as he would watch football-always cheering for his Kansas City Chiefs.
In his free time, Robert found great delight in relaxing at home, often tuning in to his favorite cooking and game shows-a simple pleasure that brought him much joy and sparked lively conversations with friends and family. But above all things, Robert enjoyed simply spending time with his family and creating memories that would last a lifetime. Whether gathered around the dinner table, celebrating milestones, or sharing quiet moments, his greatest happiness came from being surrounded by loved ones. Those cherished times remain as a lasting testament to his warmth and devotion.
Robert is lovingly remembered by his mother, Ann Wilson-Davis of Fulton, and his devoted wife, Cheryl Wilson of Fulton. He is survived by his stepson, Terrence(Raquel)Vaughn; two sisters, Zandra(Ronnie)Medlock of Kansas City and Tiffaney(Keith)Allison of North Carolina; and three brothers, Leland Roebuck of Kansas City, Anthony Roebuck of California, and Lamar Roebuck of Kansas City. One uncle William Tony of California, and one aunt Marnice Johnson of Florida. Robert's extended family includes cherished god-sisters Yvonne Simmons and Barbara Fisher, as well as his partner Gregory Cradel and his best friend Clifford Conner, whose steadfast companionship brought much joy through the years. He leaves behind a legacy of love with his ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and his memory will live on in the hearts of a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends whose lives he touched with his warmth and generosity.
He is preceded in death by his father, Paul Roebuck Sr.; his stepdaughter, Deniece Vaughn-McCaleb; his brother, Paul Roebuck Jr.; his grandparents; and Gordon Evans, who was a dear friend.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker-Millard Funeral Service and Crematory, 12 E. Ash St.; Columbia, Missouri 65203. (573) 449-4153. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.milardfamilychapels.com
