Robert Elmer Winberg

Robert Elmer Winberg, age 77, of Cedarville Michigan, passed away Friday, July 25th, 2025, at the Ball Hospice House in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. He was born January 1, 1948, in Sault Ste. Marie, to Elmer Otto and Laura (Hiser) Winberg. Robert lived most of his life in Cedarville. After graduation, he joined Local 685 plumber and pipefitter in Sault Ste. Marie for a short time, then joined Local 85 plumber and pipefitter in Saginaw, Michigan. Robert worked for Local 85 for over thirty years before retiring. Robert married his wife Ruth Ann Lee in January 1973 and together they raised five children. Robert was an outdoorsman at heart and could often be found gardening, berry picking, camping, hunting, fishing, and helping family with anything needed. Above all, Robert's joy came from being a grandfather and great-grandfather. His grandchildren were the light of his life. He spent countless hours watching and cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events. He loved taking them hunting, fishing, reading books, singing songs, and delivering them special treats. Robert is survived by his mother, Laura Winberg of Midland, Michigan, son, Robert Winberg of Cedarville; daughters, Marice (Scott) Robinson of Frederic Michigan, Laura (Tim) Fisher of Pickford, Michigan, Roberta (Joe) Causley of Hessel, Michigan, and Crystal (Rob) Spiker of Pickford; grandchildren, Anthony Robinson, Ashley Robinson, Jacob Robinson, Savannah Port, Chase (Hannah) Fisher, Lily Fisher, Justin (Kody) Spiker, Leah (Joe Winter) Spiker, Shane Spiker, Ean Spiker, Nicole Currie and Brooklynn Currie; great-grandchildren, Hudson and Haven Spiker; siblings, Karen (Ron) Howard, Diane (Bob) Delong, Steve (Debra) Winberg and Leona (Pat) Sian; brothers-in-law, Pat (Lisa) Lee, John (Nancy) Lee, Ron (Roberta) Lee and Louis Mills; as well as several nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Winberg; father, Elmer Otto Winberg; and in-laws Marcy Lee, Terry Linderman, Lorna Lee, Betty Smith, Ellsworth Lee, Marion Lee and Marshall Lee. A Celebration of Life will be held in Robert's honor on Sunday, August 24th at the Cedarville Community Center, 133 E. M-134, Cedarville, MI 49719, from 12:00 Noon – 3:00 PM.
