Robert Woschitz, 90, of Anderson, passed away on November 25, 2022. He was born on May
2,1932 in Gary, Indiana and resided in Anderson for most of his life.
Robert graduated with honors from the University of Michigan's Engineering School, receiving
two degrees. Also, he was a pitcher on Michigan's 1953 College Baseball World Series
Championship team. After college, he served his country in the United States Army.
He enjoyed a long, 40 year career at General Motors, primarily employed by the Guide Lamp
Division in Anderson. He started at GM as an engineer, spent many years as an internal
Midwest Engineering Sales Liaison, and finally retired in 1992 after serving as Guide Lamp's
Quality Assurance Manager. He was passionate about designing and building automobiles.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. He and his family were
members of the Anderson Country Club where they enjoyed making many dear friends and
participating in club dances, golf tournaments, and other activities.
He was an avid golfer, sail boater, German folk dancer, bread maker, loved jazz music, and was
a great fan of most sports. He also enjoyed trying new things such as acting in a local play or
volunteering such as providing "old movie" nights with popcorn at a local assisted living facility.
He was a man of few words but enjoyed helping and inspiring people to grow and succeed. He
always served as a positive life example to others.
Robert is survived by his loving spouse of 64 years, Janice (Stagg) Woschitz; sons, Karl (Amy
Sera) Woschitz and Dan (Patti) Woschitz; grandchildren; Luke and Jill Woschitz, and Iris Sera,
and great granddaughter, Leslie Spearman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Anna Woschitz; In-laws, Harold and
Malena Stagg, older brother, Frank Woschitz; nephew, Joseph Woschitz, and great nephew,
Michael Woschitz.
He also enjoyed being known as"Uncle Bob" to his extended family; sister-in-law, Patsy (Frank)
Woschitz, Michelle (Joseph) Woschitz; great nephew, Ryan (Jessica) Woschitz, their daughter,
Miabelle and newborn son, Joseph; great niece, Brittany (Sam) Neff; niece, Janet (Brian) Dunn;
great nieces, Meghan and Olivia Dunn; great nephew, Patrick Dunn; nephew, David (Linda)
Woschitz; great nieces, Karleigh (Phillip) Ciato and Wynnie Almquist; Debbie Woschitz; great
nephew, Eric Woschitz; great niece, Marissa Woschitz and her daughter, Skylar Woschitz.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 2, 2022, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at Loose Funeral Homes &
Crematory, 200 W. 53rd Street, Anderson, IN.
Services will follow visitation at 1:00 pm at the funeral home and burial will take place at
Anderson Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to his favorite charity, the Wounded Warriors Project.
