Robert Wright Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rose Funeral & Cremation - Mann on Feb. 5, 2025.
Bob grew up in Columbus, Ohio and graduated from The Ohio State University as a Welding Engineer in 1953. After graduation he served in the US Air Force and was discharged as a first lieutenant. He then worked as a welding engineer in Columbus before accepting a position with Bechtel in The Netherlands where he worked on the construction of several major large diameter pipelines in Europe. He left Bechtel to start his own business which was later sold to Moody International where he finished his career in 1995 in the role of President. Bob was a devoted member of Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church, where he actively participated in the Emmaus class where he and Carole formed lasting friendships.
Bob spent many summers at Fontana Village where he and Carole loved boating, cook-outs at the dam, and square dancing. He also was an avid gardener and could never have too many flowers throughout his yard. His faith was evident as to how he lived each day. Bob had such a caring heart and loved people well. This included always having a joke to tell and making people laugh!
Bob was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Carole Wright, with whom he shared 66 wonderful years of marriage. Carole passed away in September of 2019, and now, they are reunited in glory with their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his daughter Debbie Nance (Ray), sons Dave (Beth) and Doug (Marcie). He had 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the visitation on Saturday, February 8th from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Rose Mann Heritage Chapel, located at 6220 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN. The funeral service will be held the following day, Sunday, February 9th, at 3:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial gifts may be made to Ligonier Ministries, 421 Ligonier Court, Sanford, FL 32771
