Mr. Robert Larry Wylie, 85, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, August 16, 2025, surrounded by family. Funeral services for Mr. Wylie will be conducted on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. in the Rutherford chapel of Karnes and Son Funeral Home with Bro. Darryl Marcle officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Rives, Tennessee. Visitation for Larry will begin at 2:00 p.m. and go until 4:00 p.m.
Robert Larry Wylie was born July 27, 1940, to the late R.L. Wylie and Oma Lee Wylie in Kenton, Tennessee. Larry married Dorothy Helen Hime on December 29, 1963.
Following high school, he graduated from Murray State University where he served in the ROTC. He went on to serve in the National Guard. Larry worked at Kellwood Corporation for many years, beginning while he was in college during the summers. He served in various roles and ultimately as Corporate Personnel Manager. He also farmed with his father and son. Larry was never one to remain idle, so he kept working and staying busy by driving for Anderson Grainery. He was a member of the Laneview Baptist Church and had attended Kenton Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Larry shared his testimony with many and brought friends to know God.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Helen Wylie, his children, Michelle Roth and husband Doug, John Wylie and wife Melinda; two granddaughters, Elizabeth Boyarski and husband Zach; Mary Alice Williams and husband Payton; his sister, Jolyn Pearce; his sister-in-law, Johnnie Cloar; his brother-in-law, W. T. Hime and wife Ann; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by his grandson, Bob Henry McKeand, a sister, Shirley Cothran; and brothers-in-law, Jack Cothran, Charles Pearce, and John Cloar.
