Obituary of Robert Ray Yoder
Robert "Bob" Ray Yoder, 81, met our Heavenly Father on November 1, 2023. Robert was born to Claude and Beatrice on March 4, 1942. He is survived by his wife Judy; daughters Deneen (Todd) Hubbard, Marnie (Bob) Prandi, Karla (Kelly) Simmelink; step sons Terry Reinecker and Trent (Amber) Reinecker; his 10 grandchildren and great-granddaughter; brothers Gilbert (Darlene) Yoder, Keith Yoder, Steve (Pam) Starks; nieces Jacki (Greg) Fish, Jill Burgher, Val (Jeff) Lee; and nephew - Scott (Kim) Yoder.
Bob was proud of his family heritage in Yoder and he loved the town of Molalla. He graduated from Molalla Union High School, married his first wife Linda in 1964, and has lived in the same house for 56 years. 33 years ago, Bob married Judy and together they were wonderful and attentive grandparents.
Bob was a supportive father to his three girls, coaching them in sports, cheering them on in all of their activities, and supporting them in every way. Bob loved his grandkids, taking them on many camping trips and traveling across the country to support them in their individual pursuits. Bob was an active outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing, crabbing, camping and managing a local tree farm. The tree farm brought him many years of joy and pride as he worked hard to maintain the land. He often reminisced about this time spent on the farm, referring to it as his "heaven of earth". He and his wife traveled in their RV around the US and up to Alaska and Canada. He loved being on the road and could drive for hours on end.
Bob was a very friendly, dependable, compassionate and generous man who loved people. He loved woodworking and enjoyed giving his art to many people to honor their special occasions. His family will always remember him with his plaid shirts, big hands and great smile.
Bob served Molalla as a volunteer fireman for 25 years, Kiwanis member for 50 years, and a member of the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed filling candy machines around town to help raise money for Kiwanis kids' projects. He collected pop-can tabs for Doernbecher Children's Hospital. He had a true servant's heart, which was evident in the many years of service he gave to many organizations.
He was an oil truck driver with Stafford Oil Company and Carson Oil for over 40 years, retiring in March 2007. He enjoyed helping each of his customers and took pride in getting heating oil to people no matter the weather.
A memorial service to celebrate Bob's life will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Monaz Church, located at 920 Shirley Street, Molalla, beginning at 12:00 PM. Following the service, a reception will take place at the Molalla Moose Lodge, 419 Eckerd Ave, until 4:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Doernbecher Children's Hospital or the Molalla Moose Children's Programs. These organizations held a special place in Bob's heart. Additionally, the family would like to recognize and thank Providence Portland Hospice for their gentle, kind and attentive care.
Robert Yoder will forever be remember for his support and dedication to his 11 grandkids, love for his family and friends, and zest for life. His family is grateful that he passed peacefully, having full confidence in Jesus as his Lord and Savior.
