Robert Yost Obituary
"Rob" Robert Lawrence Yost, age 61, of Bonner Springs, Kansas passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024 at his home peacefully in his sleep. Funeral services are planned for 2 PM Saturday, April 20 at the Lighthouse Community Church in Downs, Kansas with burial to follow in the Downs Cemetery. Friends may call at the visitation from 1 to 2 PM, Saturday at the Church.
Rob was born March 31, 1963 in Topeka, Kansas and graduated from Downs High School before later receiving both his Bachelor's and Master's from K-State. Rob enjoyed a long history working in mental health and more recently with N.A.M.I. of Kansas as a Grant Writer. Rob loved his two cats and was an avid fantasy football player. He was a big music lover and video game player and had quite an extensive library of each. Rob was a comics collector but most of all he enjoyed putting on a huge fireworks display each year. Rob is proceeded in death by his father Larry Yost in 2017 and survived by his wife of 10 years Linda Yost of the home, his mother Gerry Yost of Downs, Kansas one sister Carrie Engler (Dan) of Downs, Kansas and one brother Brian Yost (Tami) of Salina, Kansas. One nephew, six nieces as well as many other family and friends.
The family suggests memorial contributions to N.A.M.I. Kansas 1801 SW Wanamaker Rd Suite G6, Box 164, Topeka, KS 66604 or to the Lighthouse Community Church 901 Blunt St. Downs, KS 67437

Competed against Rob in the spelling bees in middle school I don't ever recall beating him. Easily one of the most intelligent men I have ever known. Definitely had a mind of his own and not a mean bone in his body. My condolences to his family.

Rob and I sat at the "kids" table every Thanksgiving at grandma Nellie´s house. I vividly remember his volcanos of mashed potatoes. Later on FB he would fact check and correct my posts on a regularly. He will be missed.
