Robert Alan Young

Robert Alan Young, age 75, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, passed away peacefully in the early hours of January 24, 2026.
He was born on July 2, 1950, in Flint, Michigan, to Lawny Dale Young and Ivy Young Everett. Bob spent over 19 years at UPS, where he built a successful career as a Division Manager. After leaving UPS, he and his wife, Leigh, went into business together as the proud owners of Golf USA of Grand Rapids, combining their shared love of golf with their entrepreneurial spirit.
Bob loved golf, vacations, and watching MSU basketball. He treasured the many trips he and Leigh took together, especially their frequent travels to Florida to escape the Michigan winters. He looked forward every year to his annual golf trip with his friends, a tradition that meant so much to him. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family, whether it was watching his grandsons' sporting events or making the two-hour drive to be with all of his grandchildren. He was passionate in all he did and carried a competitive spirit that came from a deep love for life and for his family.
He is survived by his wife, Leigh Young; daughters, Melissa (Josh) White, Michelle (Rob) Young, and Christina (Jan) Olsen; grandchildren, Braelynn, Hudson, Reid, and Riley; brother, Dennis Young; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, close friends, and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lawny Dale Young; his mother, Ivy Everett; his sister, Linda Hollenbeck; and his niece, Becky Young.

Bob's family will greet friends at a visitation to remember him on Friday, February 13, 2026 from 4-6 pm at Memorial Alternatives Chapel, 2432 Fuller Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505.
