Robert "Bob" Young passed away unexpectedly following a sudden cardiac arrest, leaving his family and all who knew him absolutely heartbroken. His loss feels unreal, and he will be missed more than words can express.
Bob was a strong, brave, and prideful man-a true man of the house-who lived his life always in motion, always serving, always ensuring that the people he loved were taken care of. To his family, he felt invincible. If Bob was around, there was nothing to fear.
He loved deeply and lived fully. He loved his family above all else, and also loved cats, cars, music, landscaping, and working with his hands. If something needed fixing, lifting, building, or figuring out, Bob was there-no questions asked. He had stories for everything, opinions to match, and a confidence that filled every room he entered. His firm handshake and even firmer presence were unforgettable.
Beneath that toughness, however, was a man with a big heart. Bob was far more sentimental and thoughtful than many ever realized. He laughed loudly, loved generously, sent countless GIFs, and showed up-every time. He was a father not only to his children, but a father figure and close friend to those lucky enough to be taken under his wing.
Bob cherished the milestones of his family's lives-weddings, travels, careers, grandchildren-and took immense pride in being present for them. He was surrounded by his immediate family in his final moments, and for that, they are deeply grateful.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Esther Young (Mai) and Walter Young and his brother Jerry.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Sandy Young (Schuster); his children Jenna Engen (Young) and her husband Shane, Nick Young, and Zack Young and his wife Charlie Richardson; his cherished grandchildren Caleb, Levi, and Micah Engen; and his siblings Loretta and Dick Young.
Though his absence leaves an immeasurable void, his family takes comfort in the overwhelming love shown by all who knew him, and in the knowledge that his life was one of service, strength, and devotion.
There will be peace in the valley for him.
Rest easy, Bob. You are loved beyond measure and missed every single day.
A celebration of life will be planned for some time in the summer of 2026. Bob loved the summer!
