Robert Daniel "Bob" Zimmerman

Bob Zimmerman, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and community leader, passed away at the age of 86. Born in Hoboken, NJ, to a proud German and Irish heritage, Bob lived a life marked by dedication, service, and love for his family.
Bob was a devoted husband to Maryann Zimmerman, his cherished partner of 62 years. Together, they built a beautiful family, raising two sons, Darrell and Robert, who continue to honor his legacy. He is survived by Darrell and his wife, Elizabeth, along with their children, Justin and Alina, and her fiancé, Michael. His son Robert and his wife, Stephanie, also mourn his passing, along with their children, Taylor, Kayla, and her husband, John DePirri.
Bob worked for Public Services for 37 years, providing diligent service to his community. In his earlier years, he proudly served in the U.S. Army for two years, embodying the spirit of patriotism and duty. After his retirement, Bob enjoyed the simpler pleasures of life-he was an avid golfer and fisherman, finding peace and joy on the greens and by the water.
Beyond his personal interests, Bob was deeply involved in the communities where he lived, both in New Jersey and at Century Village, Florida. He played an active role in organizing and overseeing activities at Pine Ridge South, where he was known for his leadership and tireless commitment to his neighbors and friends. His presence made both communities better places to live, and his impact will be long remembered.
Bob was happiest when surrounded by family. His love for his grandchildren, who brought him endless pride and joy, was evident to all who knew him.
A viewing will be held on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Carmona-Bolen Funeral Home, 66 Lacey Road, Manchester Township, NJ.
A funeral service will take place on Monday at 10:45 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 30 Schoolhouse Rd, Manchester Township, NJ.
