Roberta Faye Annala

Ishpeming, MI/Charlotte, NC – Roberta F. (Aho) Annala, age 68, passed away from a heart attack at her home in Charlotte, North Carolina on June 8, 2025.
Roberta was born on March 5, 1957, in Ishpeming, Michigan, the daughter of the late William and Jane (Booker) Aho. She was a 1975 graduate of Westwood High School and went on to attend Northern Michigan University. Roberta built a dedicated career with State Farm Insurance, where she worked for over 30 years before retiring following the passing of her beloved husband, Terry "Buff" Annala, in 2014. The couple shared 36 years of marriage.
In her free time, Roberta enjoyed a wide array of creative pursuits, including quilting, knitting, photography, painting and traveling.
She is survived by six siblings: Gail (Ron) Santamore of Florida, Susan (Terry) Jandron, Dennis Aho, Rita (Dan) Niemisto, Debe Annala, and Kendall Aho; brothers-in-law Larry (Patty) Annala and Richard Palm, sisters-in-law Betty Kjellman, Lois Durand, Karen Aho and June Aho all of Ishpeming; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, Roberta was preceded in death by her brothers William and Jerry Aho; sister Candace Palm; brothers-in-law Richard Palm and Robert "Hutch" Annala; and her in-laws, Nels and Lorraine Annala.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation will take place in North Carolina. A graveside service will be held at 2:30pm on Wednesday July 16, 2025 at the Ishpeming Cemetery. A luncheon will follow the graveside service at the Ishpeming Township Hall until 7:00pm.
