Roberta Bohannon

Roberta "Bobbie" Leah Bohannon, age 86, of Edwardsville, IL passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL surrounded by her loving family.
She was born August 15, 1939 in Fort Wayne, IN, the daughter of the late Walter and Alice (Bercot) Hardiek. She married Michael R. Bohannon on April 8, 1961. They were happily married for 26 years. He preceded her in death on June 24, 1987 and she missed him immensely.
Bobbie is survived by three children: Deborah (Jerry) Dye of Kansas City, MO, Kathryn (Kevin) Hill of Edwardsville, IL and Timothy Bohannon of Hazelwood, MO; five grandchildren: Kaitlyn (Jordan) Baumgardner of Ames, IA, Nicholas (Kinzie) Dye of Liberty, MO, Elizabeth Hill of Edwardsville, IL, Ethan Hill of Palo Alto, CA and Kendra Tripp of Boise, ID; and four great-grandchildren: Meryn Baumgardner, Myles Baumgardner, Harper Dye and Lillie Dye. She was also an important part in the lives of Christine Rimkus of Edwardsville, IL, and Ralph French of Corpus Chirsti, Texas.
Bobbie was a long-time employee of the Special School District in St. Louis, MO. She was a cafeteria worker at North County Tech and took pride in serving the students. She was a devout Catholic and always had a rosary during mass. In her younger retired years, she would attend mass daily. Often after mass on Saturday evenings, she enjoyed her regular jumbo margarita at El Maguey with family and friends. She loved collecting seashells on her many vacations to Florida with her family. As well, she was a huge St. Louis Cardinal's fan, but loved watching all sports. She was very generous with her time and helping others. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Friday, November 14, 2025 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 110 N. Buchanan St. in Edwardsville, followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 11 a.m. with Fr. Bob Jallas officiating.
The family would like to extend a huge thank you to the dedicated staff at Eden Retirement Center for their excellent care of Roberta over the last 5 years. We know she was well loved.
