Roberta Freer Obituary

ELDRED - Roberta A. Freer, 84, of Eldred passed away peacefully Tuesday (Jan. 13, 2026) at UPMC Shadyside, Pittsburgh, after a short illness. She was surrounded by her children as she left this world to enter the loving arms of her Lord and Savior.
She was born Oct. 10, 1941, in Buffalo, N.Y., a daughter of William and Margaret Tenz Propster. On May 9, 1980, she married Russell Freer, who preceded her in death on Jan. 20, 2015.
She was a devoted and nurturing mother, exceptional grandmother and devout Christian.
Mrs. Freer was a graduate of Ellicottville (N.Y.) High School, Class of 1956. Roberta worked in home health care as a caregiver for many years. She also had worked at Olean Tile for a period of time, and ultimately, at Graham's Greenhouse in Bradford. She was in the process of becoming a Master Gardener through the Penn State Agricultural Program.
She was a member of the McKean County Historical Society, Smethport, and Friends of Allegany (N.Y.) State Park.
Roberta is survived by one daughter, Tina (Chuck) Lunn of Tega Cay, S.C.; two sons, Todd Freer of Greenville, S.C., and William Freer of Eldred; three grandchildren, Amelia, Elizabeth and Quint Lunn; two sisters, Barbara (Roger) McLean and Charmaine (Earl) Leach of Chetek, Wisc.; one brother, Joshua Propster of Cincinnati; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Nannette Plaisted.
In keeping with Roberta's wishes, there will be no visitation or services.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to Allegany State Park, 2373 ASP, US-1, Salamanca, NY 14779.
