WEST VALLEY -- Wendy A. Boldt of Plato Road passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Olean General Hospital.

Wendy was born on January 4, 1952, in Salamanca and was the daughter of George and Shirley Deiter Wilcox. On May 20, 1972, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ellicottville, she married her high school sweetheart of almost 54 years, Earl E. Boldt, who survives.

Wendy was a 1970 graduate of Ellicottville Central School; she continued her education at the St. Francis School of Nursing in Olean in 1971. She worked as an LPN for her whole career in various places including the Olean General Hospital Emergency Department for about 10 years in the early 2000s then for Dr. Thayaparan Mathanakaran for about 10 years until her retirement in 2022.

Wendy enjoyed quilting, flower gardening, and feeding birds. Most of all, she loved her family and enjoyed taking care of them, especially her grandchildren. She was a former member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Wendy is survived by her loving husband, Earl, a son, Eric E. (Kristine) Boldt of Sharon Spring, KS., six grandchildren; Chad, William Cooper, Neil, Hunter, and Brayden, and three great grandchildren; Wayne, Jaxston, and Nyla, three sisters; Chris (Doug) Prey of Great Valley, Darlene Hollaren of IL., Melody Wilcox, and several nieces and nephews.

Wendy was predeceased by her parents, a daughter, Tracy Boldt on December 2, 2019, and two sisters, Kim Bradfield and Dianna Fraizer.
