Roberta Jean Gacek

Roberta Jean Gacek, 87 of Bristol, passed away at her home on Monday December 15, 2025. Roberta was born on March 11, 1938 in Portage Lake, Maine, the daughter of the late Robert Marquis and Juanita McLoud and stepfather William McLoud. She was a longtime member of St. Gregory the Great Church and retired from Connecticut Bank & Trust. Roberta was the past president of B.A.R.C. and was instrumental in making positive changes in the education system, not only for her son Jamie, but for all of Bristol's special needs citizens. Her charismatic personality blessed her with many caring friends, but "Bobbie" immensely treasured her Plainville High School friends and continued to lead her class by hosting annual reunions at her home in Bristol. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Susan and Brian Gaudoin; her two sons and a daughter-in-law Michael and Wendy Gacek and James John Gacek; her grandchildren Michael and Daniel Gaudoin and Jack and Emma Gacek. She was predeceased by her husband Francis Gacek and her brother Gary Marquis. Although life presented her with a fair share of challenges, she created a wonderful loving home for her children that they will always be grateful for. Her family would like to acknowledge one of her dearest companions, Charlie McCarroll, who was always there to support her and her family. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at O'Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave., Bristol from 8:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. then to St. Gregory Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m..
