Roberta Hueser Obituary

Roberta Jean Hueser

October 3, 1932 - December 25, 2025

Roberta Jean Hueser, age 93, of George, Iowa, peacefully passed away on December 25, 2025, at the Good Samaritan Senior Living Center in George, Iowa.

A private family burial will take place at a future date for both Roberta and William Hueser at Oakhill Cemetery, Cherokee, Iowa.

Roberta Jean Hueser was born on October 3, 1932, in Dallas, Iowa, to Carl R. and Lucille (Logue) Wheeler. She attended school in Dallas and later moved to Cherokee, Iowa, where she graduated. She attended Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska, and then taught in Galva, Iowa, for 3 years.

Roberta and William "Bill" Hueser of Quimby, Iowa, married on June 1, 1956, and made their home in George, Iowa. Roberta taught elementary school in the George Community School District for 8 years and retired when they had their sons. In later years, Roberta served as city clerk in City Hall in George.

Church brought her much comfort and encouragement. She was a member and Sunday School teacher at the Evangelical Methodist Church in George until it closed, and later at the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church.

A firm believer in the saving power of Jesus, Roberta believed every living soul should know John 3:16. She felt John Donne said it best when he wrote, "I shall rise from the dead… I shall see the Son of God, the Sun of Glory, and shine myself as that sun shines. I shall be united to the Ancient of Days, to God Himself, who had no morning, never began…. No man ever saw God and lived. And yet, I shall not live till I see God; and when I have seen Him, I shall never die."

Roberta was involved in her community, where she and her husband Bill volunteered their time and talents. She was an avid reader and loved her flower gardens and being outdoors. While Roberta would insist that she was not especially talented, she sewed, cooked, and baked, creating such a warm and loving home.

Roberta shared that what she wanted most in life was to be a mother, and she fulfilled that wish, loving her children and grandchildren deeply. Remaining to honor Roberta's legacy and memory are her two sons, Kyle (Amy) and Jon (Angie), Nikki Wince; 8 grandchildren, Zoe, Jacob, Kennedy, Tanner, Eddie, Ethan, Zach, and Danica; 4 great-grandchildren, Bennett, Grayson, Roslynn, and Jayla; sister-in-law, Delores Wheeler; brother-in-law, Jerry (Jean) Hueser; sister-in-law, Peggy Lewis, and many nieces and nephews, who brought great joy.

Preceding Roberta in death was her husband and life partner of 69 years, Bill Hueser; her parents, Carl and Lucille Wheeler; sister, Sherry Wheeler; brothers, Larry (Linda) Wheeler, and Charlie (Delores) Wheeler; her mother- and father-in-law, Ben and Mildred Hueser, many beloved relatives and friends.
