Norma Lee Jorgensen (Geerdes) was born in George, IA on March 26, 1936, to Chris and Janet Geerdes. Her family moved to a farm in Fulda, MN in 1949. She graduated from Fulda High School in 1953. Music, gardening, and nursing were her passions. She began playing the piano at age 5 and continued playing into her 80's. She performed as a church pianist for many years as well as at social functions. She also played the accordion. Norma's love for the outdoors led her to landscaping her homes and those of friends and neighbors. She and her husband Don enjoyed traveling, camping and fishing and she was an avid bird watcher and identifier. Together they visited all 50 states, Europe and the Middle East.

Her love of nursing led her to complete a joint 3 year RN degree program from Hennepin County General and the University of Minnesota. She was employed by Fairview Hospital and was selected to open the emergency room at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina. She retired in 1996.

Norma married James Linder (deceased) in 1956. She married Donald Jorgensen on October 3, 1987, at Pax Christi Catholic Church in Eden Prairie. She passed away on January 31, 2026 at Amira Choice, Minnetonka, MN after a long battle with Alzheimer's and cancer. She is preceded in death by her parents, Chris and Janet and brother, Ron.

She is survived by her husband, Donald, a blended family of 5 children: daughter Sheree Formanek (James) Minnetonka, MN, sons Robert Linder (Mary Kaye) Santa Monica, CA, and Brian Linder (Becky) Culver City, CA, stepdaughters Cynthia Adams (Brian) Amelia, OH, Reona Salehi, Cincinnati, OH, 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, sisters Carol Ransome, Surprise, AZ, and Lois Butterfield, Rosemount, MN, brother Russell Geerdes, Aitkin, MN, sister-in-laws Sue Geerdes, Forest Lake, MN, and Marjorie Ackerman, Iona, MN, plus many nieces and nephews and their families.

Memorial service will be held on February 24, 2026 at Pax Christi Catholic Church,12100 Pioneer Trail, Eden Prairie, MN, 55347 at 9:00 am for the visitation and 10:00 am for the funeral service. Burial is set at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN.
